This is a new feature.
It gives customers a 10 minutes window in which to deposit their bank imprint, safe in the knowledge that their place is being held.
Before this feature was rolled out, if you only had one table left and a customer wanted to reserve it, the system would allow them to do so.
The problem was that if this customer wasn't quick enough to make the bank imprint and another customer made the same reservation request but more quickly, then your first customer would be refused his reservation because the table was no longer available.
This could be a source of frustration for your customers.
When the customer starts their booking, it is now visible on your tool with a 10 minutes countdown.
There are two objectives here:
- The customer deposits their bank imprint within the allotted time and the countdown timer disappears, leaving the reservation in "confirmed" status. Your customer receives the booking confirmation email as usual.
- The customer does not complete the process of depositing a bank imprint while the reservation is being held, so the reservation is automatically cancelled. They have to wait until the end of the 5 minutes countdown to make a new request.
On this second point, we are working internally on a view that would enable you to find customers who have not completed the process within the countdown time.
In this way, you can find out about unsuccessful bookings and contact these customers if you wish. Another way of optimising your occupancy levels.
The aim of this new feature is to keep your customers in the Zenbook by giving them time to deposit their bank imprint, and to avoid frustration for the less digitalised among them.
