Depending on the composition of your takeaway offer, you may need to configure options for your menus or dishes.

To configure these options, go to your Zenchef account on the web version in the settings and then in Menus.

1. How to configure a menu with dish choices?

If you offer a menu with 2 or 3 dishes and a choice to compose it, here's how to set up your offer.

1.1 Creating a menu from existing items

1.1.1 Creating an item option

Go to the Items addons section to break down your menu (e.g., starter/main course/dessert).

• Click on New addon

• Name the addon: for example, Starter

• Add choices by selecting Existing item

• Define a supplement when creating the choice if you want its selection to involve paying extra

• Use ordering rules to make the choice mandatory

• Click Create

• Repeat these steps for each section

1.1.2 Associating options with an item

• Create an item that will be your menu (preferably in a dedicated menu for better visibility on your click & collect module):

• From "Options associated with the article", click on Add option

• Select the options

• Save

WARNING: option choices of type item will only be visible on your module if they belong to an active and available menu on the click & collect module:

1.2 Creating a menu from a text option

WARNING: this configuration will not allow you to limit the stock of items in the menu.

The process will be the same as for the previous example with this exception:

• Create your options from text

2. How to configure a dish with options?

For this configuration with multiple possibilities, we will use the example of creating a burger with the following options:

• Cooking preference (mandatory for the customer)
• Choice of up to 4 toppings (choice limitation)
• Extra paid supplement (optional for the customer)

2.1 Creating a cooking option (mandatory for the customer)

Go to the item addons section to create your options.

• Click on New addon

• Name the section: Cooking

• Add choices by selecting Text

• Name your choices: rare, medium, well-done

• Use ordering rules to make the choice mandatory

• Click Create

2.2 Creating options for a choice of up to 4 toppings (choice limitation)

Following the previous example:

• Create a new item addon

• Create your new choice options as text with the toppings

• Limit the options to a maximum of 4 on the item:

• Click Create

2.3 Creating options for an optional paid supplement (optional for the customer)

Following the previous example:

• Create a new item addon

• Create your new choice options as text with the paid supplements

• Save

Note 1: to not limit your customer's choice, do not add any selection restriction

Note 2: same for the ordering limitation

2.4 Associating options with the item

• Create the item: burger

• From "Options associated with the item", click on Add option

• Select the options

• Create

3. How will your configurations appear on the Click & Collect module and order book?

3.1 Menu with dish choices

• Your customer composes their menu with the mandatory options to select:
