All you need to know about the Zenchef x Google Reserve integration

 

Why set up the Zenchef x Google Reserve integration?

The Google Reserve feature on your Google My Business listing allows users to easily and quickly book a table at a restaurant from Google Search, Google Maps, etc.

Setting up the blue booking button on your listing is possible by establishing a connection with a reservation partner like Zenchef to access all the availability.

Google Reserve integrates Zenchef's settings into its widget, such as services, hours, availability, rooms, etc.

However, it is important to note that the widget remains the property of Google and therefore has certain limitations. Below you will find everything you need to know about the Zenchef x Google Reserve integration. ⬇️

 

Integration requirements:

In order to match your Google My Business listing and your Zenchef account, the following information must be the same:

  • The establishment's name
  • The establishment's address
  • The establishment's opening hours.

You can enter and modify this information on your Zenchef account by going to your settings / general information.

 

Setting up the integration:

Once the above information matches between your Zenchef account and your Google My Business listing, you can activate the integration from your settings / partners / integrations.

Activation can take up to 48 hours for synchronization to complete.

⚠️ Your restaurant's name and address must correspond exactly to those entered in your ZenchefOS account for the connection to work correctly.

Below are the settings that are supported by Google Reserve:

  • Services:
    The general settings for your standard and exceptional services are taken from Google (hours, days, capacity, etc.)

  • Message displayed on the booking module:
    It is taken by Google in the "Important Notes" section

  • Choice of room:
    It is taken into account by Zenchef

  • Notifications:
    Reservations made through Google Reserve will receive notifications for reconfirmation, reminder, cancellation, etc. from Zenchef.

❤️‍🩹 ⚠️ Different settings:

Below are the settings that differ in Google Reserve:

  • Confirmation:
    The confirmation notification will be sent by Google, not Zenchef.

  • Display of availability:
    Only 9 time slots are visible on the same page
    Reservations are possible only up to D+30
    The number of covers is limited to 20

  • Closure period:
    If the establishment is closed for more than 1 month, the blue button will disappear.

  • Geographical limit:
    The Google Reserve feature is not available worldwide.

💔 🚫 Settings that are not integrated:

Below are the settings not supported by Google Reserve:

  • Requirement for credit card information:
    If credit card information is required for parties of 6 or more, Google reservations will be possible for 1 to 5 guests.

  • Experiences:
    If selecting an experience is optional for booking, Google reservations will be possible.

  • Waiting list:
    Google does not offer a waiting list.

  • Proposing a new time slot:
    Zenchef cannot send a proposal for a new time slot to Google reservations.
