This article will help you to create your restaurant listing on the Zenchef app to attract reservations from guests across Europe.
With the Zenchef app, guests can reserve and follow their favorite restaurants. This means that your restaurant has an extra marketing channel at its disposal where you can tap into a network of loyal guests, without any commissions.
Use this guide to make sure your restaurant looks its absolute best in the app, and you get the most out of this free marketing channel. 🚀
Firstly, download the Zenchef app and check how your restaurant is currently displayed. Of course, you want your profile to look good and to mirror the same ambiance as your restaurant. Simply adjust the settings on your ZenchefOS platform, and it will instantly update in the Zenchef app as well.
Double-check your restaurant details
In ZenchefOS, go to Settings → General information. The following restaurant details are taken into your profile on the Zenchef app, so make sure they are filled out correctly:
- Restaurant logo
- About my restaurant
- Average spending
- Cuisines
- Address
- Phone number
- Website
- Instagram link
Add attractive pictures
Restaurant listings with pictures get more bookings.
We recommend adding a few photos to show off your restaurant(s) and delicious menu so that guests can feel the vibe of your space and your food from the app. These photos will appear in the carousel at the top of your profile in the Zenchef app.
💡 Tip: if you choose Zenchef’s website add-on, we offer you help with the creation of your website, and we can organize a professional photographer to take pictures of your restaurant, which you can also use for your app profile.
To upload your photos, go to Settings → Online visibility → Manage photos and add them there.
PHOTOS
Upload one or more photos that represent your restaurant. To be listed, at least one photo must be provided; the ideal resolution is 2400 x 1602 but cannot be less than 1280 x 854.
Make sure your menu is visible
This option is only available in Zenplus packages, for now. Your menu also appears on your profile in the Zenchef app. This is so that guests can learn more about your cuisine, dietary options and palette, even if you’re new to them. They can make their decisions based on this information and find out what kind of dishes or drinks you serve for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There are two ways to add menus.
Itemized menu
You can add to your menu by going to Settings → Menu → New Menu. You might already have published your menu there, and this will immediately be taken into the Zenchef app.
Digital menu
Go to Settings → Reservation → Digital menus and click on the blue “New digital menu” button. Here you can upload a PDF file of your menu and name it, for example: dinner, wine list, lunch.
About cuisine types
In Settings > General information, you can set cuisine types that align with the style of food your restaurant serves. This helps guests easily find and book the right restaurant and type of cuisine that fit their specific needs in the Zenchef app.
The Zenchef App supports only 34 default cuisine types (see list). To make sure your restaurant shows up in the app, pick the cuisines from the provided list at the bottom of the article that matches the style of your restaurant and type them into the Type of Cuisine section.
Get featured on the Zenchef app homepage
The home page in the Zenchef app features four suggested categories which guests can use to quickly filter the available restaurants on the Book page. These are:
- Dinner tonight: search for all the restaurants in your area with availability tonight at 19:00 for 2 people.
- Friday's cocktails: searching for all the restaurants with the “Cocktails” cuisine tag and availability next Friday at 18:00 for 2 people.
- Saturday's brunch: searching for all restaurants with the “Breakfast/Brunch” tag and availability next Saturday at 10:00 for 2 people.
- Sunday brunch: searching for all restaurants with the “Breakfast/Brunch” tag and availability next Sunday at 10:00 for 2 people.
If your restaurant serves cocktails or brunch/breakfast on the days and times listed above, add the cuisine tags: Cocktails or Breakfast/Brunch, but be aware that your restaurant can only have two cuisine types!
Note: currently there are more categories on the app’s home page, which your restaurants do not appear in. This is because the functionality is not fully integrated yet, but this will be fixed in the near future.
