How to release a Credit Card Hold?

What you need to know

If you have not made a charge on a booking associated with a Credit Card Hold, you can release the customer's imprint with one click from their booking. 

 

1. Release a Credit Card Hold from the web application

  • Go to your Bookings tab. 
  • Search for the relevant booking.
  • Click on the coloured action button (the one showing the booking status). 
  • Click on the action "Release Credit Card Hold".

 

2. Release a Credit Card Hold from the iOS and Android application

  • Open your Zenchef app on your device. 
  • Go to your Bookings tab via the dropdown menu at the top left. 
  • Search for the relevant booking.
  • Click on it to access its modification. 
  • Click on the coloured action button (the one showing the booking status). 
  • Click on the action "Release Credit Card Hold".
  • Save your action. 

 

3. Common cases & FAQs

Common cases

  • The "Release Credit Card Hold" button is not available. 
    Check that a Credit Card Hold has indeed been placed on the booking, and that it has not already been charged. Also check the enabled action buttons in your settings. 

FAQs

  • Is the customer notified when an Credit Card Hold is released?
    Yes, if you manually release the Credit Card Hold, your customer will receive the information by email or SMS (depending on your notification settings).
