In App Fast Check-In

We are excited to introduce the new Fast In-App Check-In feature in the ZenchefOS iOS app! This feature aims to streamline the check-in process for guests at high-volume restaurants, making it faster and more efficient for both guests and restaurant staff.

The Fast In-App Check-In feature is designed to enhance the guest experience at your restaurant and streamline operations for your staff. We encourage you to utilize this new feature and provide feedback to help us improve future updates.

Benefits 💪

    • Faster Check-Ins: Guests can check in quickly by presenting a QR code, reducing wait times.
    • Improved Efficiency: Restaurant staff can easily scan QR codes to retrieve reservation details without manual searches.
    • Enhanced Guest Experience: This new method minimizes the hassle for guests, allowing them to enjoy their dining experience from the moment they arrive.
    • Real-Time Updates: Staff can instantly update reservation statuses, improving the flow of service during peak hours.

Limitations 🧐

  • iOS Only: Currently available only on iOS devices, with Android support planned for future releases.
  • QR Code Availability: For the moment, your guest's QRCode is only located in their emails (confirmation, reminders etc.) but will be available in their AppleWallet in a near futur

How to Use the Feature ? ✅

  1. Generating Your QR Code:
      • When your guest is making a reservation via the ZenchefOS app, a QR code will be generated automatically and included in her/his confirmation email.

      • You can choose to add the QRCode in other emails template by editing them and adding the variable "QR Code"
      • Your guests can retrieve it also in the event's description if they added the reservation to their agenda.

Incoming : Guests will be able to add their reservation with this QR code into their Apple Wallet for easy access.

  1. Checking In:

      • Upon arrival at the restaurant, you guest can present their QR code to the frontliner.
      • The staff will scan the QR code using the in-app camera, which will automatically retrieve your reservation details.
  2. Managing Reservations:

      • After scanning, the staff can quickly update your reservation status to "Seated" or "Arrived."
  3. QR Code Validity:
    • Only QRCodes generated by Zenchef will be valid for scanner.
    • Status can be changed only if the QRCode is scanned in the time interval of 1h before and 1h after the reservation time.
    • An error will show up if it's the wrong restaurant, or the wrong date.

Settings Configuration

To ensure optimal use of the QR Code Check-In feature, please configure the following settings:

  1. Notifications: Enable notifications to receive updates about your reservation and check-in status.
    • Go to Settings > Notifications > ZenchefOS > Allow Notifications.

  2. Check-In status option: You can choose which status to use by selecting your prefered option in this page :  "Default status for walk-in" <-- Click Here

FAQs:

  • What happens if the QR code is invalid?**
    An error message will be displayed, explaining the issue (e.g., wrong restaurant, wrong day, etc.).

  • Can guests add the QR code to their phone wallet?
    Not yet, but this functionality is planned for future iterations.

  • What about reservations or guests with tags? experiences ? comments ? 
    Tags, experiences and comments will display on the modal to ensure readability.
