What you need to know

  • Squeeze is available on the Manage and Grow plan

  • Squeeze is configured per Experience — you can activate it on some Experiences and not others

  • Once activated, Squeeze works automatically across all booking widget types (SDK, iframe, and standalone URL)

  • Squeeze only applies to Experiences — it does not affect regular reservations

1. What is Squeeze and how does it work

Squeeze allows your Experience reservations to adapt their duration to fit the available time in your schedule, rather than showing no availability when the full duration cannot be accommodated.
You set a maximum and minimum duration, and Zenchef always offers guests the longest fitting slot within that range. If no slot meets the minimum, the time slot shows as unavailable. If the duration is shortened, the guest sees a clear alert before confirming — and can go back to pick a different slot.

2. Activating Squeeze on an Experience

  1. Go to Settings > Experiences

  2. Select the Experience you want to configure

  3. In the "availability tab" of your Experience, enable the "Custom duration" option

  4. Enable the Squeeze option

  5. Set the maximum duration and the minimum duration

  6. Click Save

3. What your guests see

If the full duration is available, the booking proceeds as normal. If the duration has been adapted, guests see an alert showing the updated duration before confirming. They can go back and select a different time slot if needed.
