- To appear on the booking module, a menu must first be created in the "Digital menus" section before being linked to a service or experience.
1. Create a digital menu
Before displaying a menu to your customers, you must add the file or link in your Zenchef back office.
- Go to Settings > Menus & Click and Collect > Digital menus.
- Click on the New digital menu button.
- Enter the name of your menu (e.g. "Daily Specials Board" or "Weekend Menu").
- Choose the format: upload a PDF document or insert a redirect link.
- Click Create to save.
2. Display menus on the booking module
You can make your menu accessible via a "book" icon directly on the module for your regular or exceptional services.

- Follow the same steps as for a regular service to link the menu in the exception settings.
3. Link a menu to a Zenchef Experience
Display a dedicated "Menu" button on the banner of your Experience to inform your customers before booking.
- Go to Settings > Services & Reservations > Services & Experiences and select Experiences.
- Click New Experience or edit an existing one. For detailed steps on creating or managing Experiences, see: How to setup and customise your experiences ?
- In the Visibility section, select the “Highlighted” option (this allows the experience to be displayed directly on your module's homepage).
- In the Experience Menu field, select your digital menu from the dropdown list.
- Save your changes.
What you need to know :
- Visibility: The "Menu" button only appears on “Highlighted” Experiences.
- Display Priority: If a menu is linked to the service AND another to the experience, both will be visible to the guest. However, if you configure the experience as “Restricted”, only the Experience menu will be offered on the module.
4. Common cases & FAQs
Common cases
- The menu icon does not appear on the module: Check that the menu is correctly linked to the service in the "Advanced settings" tab of the relevant service.
- The “Menu” button is missing from my Experience: Check that the Experience is set to "Featured" visibility.
- Access depending on subscription: This option is only available for the Manage and Grow plans (not available on the Reserve plan).
FAQ
- Can I link different menus for lunch and dinner? Yes, you can assign a specific menu to each service. However, each service is currently limited to one digital menu.
-
Will both of my menus be displayed if I have one on the service and one on the experience?
Yes, the guest will see the service menu icon (the small book) as well as the "Menu" button on the experience photo. However, if the experience is set to “Restricted” mode, only the menu linked to the experience will be proposed on the module. - Will my menus be visible via the Google "Reserve" button? No, menus and experience customisations are only visible on the Zenchef module. The Google Reserve booking button is not compatible with these features.
- Can I require customers to view the menu? The “Menu” icon on your service is optional, but you can ensure visibility for services by activating the "Digital menu" notification in the Customer notification settings. For experiences, you can make selecting the experience mandatory for certain services.
