What you need to know
The code manager allows you to secure certain actions by requiring a code validation. The actions covered include, for example:
- Making a reservation above a certain number of guests
- Modifying or deleting customer records
- Marking a service as fully booked
- Charging a customer
- Downloading the customer file
The Code Manager feature is not included in all Zenchef subscription plans.
1. Set up from the web application
Activate the code manager
- Go to Settings > General & Teams > Code manager.
- Click on Edit my code manager to set your code.
- Enable or disable the options you want to secure.
- Don’t forget to save your changes at the bottom of the page.
Use the code manager
- To perform actions protected by this feature, you’ll now need to enter the defined code manager. For example, if you enabled the code manager for “mark as fully booked,” you’ll need to enter the code manager to perform this action.
- This applies to all users of your Zenchef account, including those with Manager status.
2. Set up from the iOS app
- Open the Zenchef app on your iOS device.
- Go to Settings > Reservations > Code manager.
- Click on Edit my code manager to set your code.
- Enable or disable the options you want to secure.
- Save your changes.
3. Common cases & FAQs
Common cases
- I forgot the code manager. If you forgot your code, contact Zenchef support to reset it.
- The software asks me to enter the code manager even though I’m logged in as a Manager. Yes, the code is required for all users of your Zenchef account, including those with Manager status.

- How do I change my code manager? Go to Settings > Reservations > Code manager and click on Edit my code manager.
- Can I disable the code manager for certain actions? Yes, just disable the corresponding options in the code manager settings.
