💡 What you need to know
Website Pop-up lets you publish a newsletter subscribe popup on your restaurant's website. Visitors who subscribe are added automatically to your default Marketing Suite opt-in segment — so you grow your marketing audience from all website visitors, not just guests who book. The popup is available on any website where your Zenchef booking widget is installed.

1. What is Website Pop-up and why use it?
Website Pop-up gives you a second native source of opt-ins — from your website visitors, outside the booking flow. Until now, the only guests in your Zenchef marketing list were guests who had completed a booking.
Website Pop-up changes that: any visitor on your website can now subscribe to your newsletter and land directly in your default Marketing Suite opt-in segment. No booking required. The popup editor lets you customise the content in multiple languages, add a hero image, and choose a call-to-action.
Available CTA options:
• Newsletter subscribe (embedded email capture — visitors enter their email directly in the popup)
• Open booking widget (for booking-focused CTAs)
• Pre-select an experience (highlight a specific event or menu)
• Pre-fill a reservation date (drive traffic to a specific date)
• No button (pure information or announcement)
Only one popup can be active at a time. When you activate a new popup, the previous one is paused automatically. Your booking widget, existing segments, and marketing campaigns are not affected.
2. How to activate Website Pop-up
Activating your popup takes under 5 minutes from your Zenchef back-office.
- Go to Campaigns > Website Pop-up → New popup → Add title, body text, and optional hero image → Choose your CTA → Save and Activate.
The popup immediately becomes visible on your website wherever the Zenchef booking widget is installed. Visitors who close the popup without subscribing won't see it again for 14 days.
3. Troubleshooting & FAQs
Common Issues:
Popup not showing on website — Check 1: Is the booking widget installed on the website? The popup only appears on pages where the widget is present. Check 2: Is the popup status set to Active in Campaigns > Website Pop-up?
New subscribers not appearing in contacts — Subscribers are added to the default opt-in segment of your Marketing Suite. Go to Marketing > Segments to view them.
Popup disappeared after I created a new one — Only one popup can be active at a time. Activating a new popup automatically pauses the previous one.
Popup not visible on mobile — The popup renders on both desktop and mobile by default. Verify that the booking widget is loading correctly on mobile.
