What you need to know
Do you have several restaurants and want to encourage your customers to book at another location if one is full? The restaurant suggestion feature is for you!
This feature allows a group of restaurants to show the availability of another venue in the group if one’s booking module is unavailable. To use this, your venues must be grouped to share customer files and avoid duplicates. If not, please contact your account manager or our support team to merge your venues into a group.
Note: If you’ve subscribed to ZenMarketing for email newsletters and/or SMS campaigns, the mailing lists will be pulled from the shared customer file of your group.
1. What is restaurant suggestion?
This feature allows a group of restaurants to offer the end customer the availability of one or more other group venues when the booking module of a venue is unavailable for a given service or date, and for the desired party size.
The resulting reservation will be flagged as coming from the original restaurant via the “referrer” system.
2. How does it appear on my booking module?
If a service or date is unavailable for the desired party size, your module will invite guests to check availability at your other venues.
Visually, this appears as a button “See availability in our other restaurants”:

If a service is full, this will show under the name of that service.

If a date is fully booked, it will appear under the date selection calendar.
When clicked, the widget will automatically display the booking modules of other group venues that have availability overlapping with the original service.
Note: If there is still waitlist availability for that service, it will not be considered full, and restaurant suggestion will not be shown.
3. How do I activate it in the settings?

Click the ✚ next to a non-suggested venue to move it to the right, into the suggested section.

next to a suggested venue to move it back to non-suggested. -
To change the order, drag and drop the names.

The order (top to bottom) will be respected when suggesting venues.

I can’t see my other venues on the “Suggested restaurants” settings page. Your venues must be grouped, which our team can do manually—please contact our support team to arrange this!

I don’t have access to the “Suggested restaurants” settings tab. Make sure this feature is included in your subscription.

- Can I choose which venue is suggested first? Yes, simply drag and drop your venues in the “Suggested restaurants” settings page to change the order.
