Summary
Previously, if a customer was slow to enter their Credit Card Hold, another faster customer could take the last available table. This feature prevents that by temporarily holding the reservation for 5 minutes. Two outcomes are possible: either the customer finalizes the payment in time, or the reservation is automatically cancelled.
What you need to know / Tips
Once the customer starts the booking, a temporary reservation with a 5-minute countdown appears in your tool.
If the Credit Card Hold is added in time, the reservation automatically becomes “confirmed.”
If the customer doesn’t finish in time, the reservation is cancelled automatically.
A future improvement will provide a dedicated view to identify incomplete reservations.
1. When the countdown starts
When a customer begins a reservation requiring a Credit Card Hold, a temporary reservation appears in your tool with a 5‑minute countdown.
2. If the customer adds their Credit Card Hold in time
The countdown disappears.
The reservation is automatically confirmed.
The customer receives the usual confirmation email.
3. If the customer doesn’t add their Credit Card Hold in time
The reservation is automatically cancelled.
The customer must wait for the countdown to end before making a new request.
A new view is being considered to let you identify these customers and contact them if desired.
