What you need to know
Service exceptions allow you to temporarily adjust your booking availability without changing your usual settings. These adjustments can include opening a service on a day usually closed, closing a specific service, or modifying the settings of an existing service. It is important to correctly define the period and the services concerned so that the changes are taken into account.
1. Configure from the web application
To create a service exception (A service exception allows you to indicate to Zenchef that on a specific date or date range, the service operation will be different) in Zenchef, you need to log in to your back-office and follow this path:
Settings → Services and bookings → Services and experiences.
You will arrive at the schedule. You have several options:

Modification for a single date :
- Click on the concerned day and the impacted service,
- Select the option "modification for this date only",
- Make the desired changes.

Modification for a date range :
- Select the desired period,
- Changes will be applied to all dates within this range.

Modification of all occurrences :
- This modifies the service as a whole, as it was created.
4. Delete a service for a specific date :
- Click on the concerned service on the chosen date,
- Click on Delete, and follow the same logic as for the exception.
5. Completely close a day or a period :
- Click on New → Closure period,
- Select whether you want to close for the whole day or for a date range.
To manage your already created exceptions or add new ones:
- Click on the small list icon located at the top right (next to the Weekly and Monthly views),
- You will see all existing exceptions and can create new ones or modify existing ones
- Create a new exception :
- Click on New,
- Give a name to the exception,
- Select the start and end dates,
- Choose the impacted services.

- Make the desired changes.

The service exception setting is not yet available in the Zenchef IOS and Android application. Access your account from the Web application to configure it.
3. Common cases & FAQs
Common cases
Changes made via a service exception are not taken into account.
Make sure you have properly saved your service exception. You should see it again by returning to the tab of the same name. Any parameter changes are generally visible within a few minutes on your online booking module (allow more time for Google Reserve).
I am unable to close all services for a given period.
An exception created cannot be empty of services. If you want to close all services for a given period, use the Closure periods.
FAQ
How do I modify an existing service in an exception?
Click on the concerned service to adjust its settings, such as the number of covers or the booking period.
How can I verify that my changes have been applied?
After saving your changes, go to your online booking module, refresh the page, and simulate a booking to ensure the changes are visible.
