What you need to know
The seating plan lets you view and manage your reservations for each service. You can customize what information appears on it so that it visually matches your organization as closely as possible.
This functionality is not available from the mobile app. Please use the web application.
1. Why customise the display?
Customising your seating plan view in Zenchef allows your team to manage reservations more efficiently and makes the layout more readable. This helps avoid reservation conflicts, maximises space, and supports a smoother guest experience by keeping your seating plan clear and easy to use.
2. How to customise the display
Go to Settings > Reserve > Front of House > Reservation Display. The Seating Plan 
view appears by default.
A selection of display options is available on this page. You can, among other things, choose to:
- Activate or deactivate your seating plan view.
- Choose which guest information you want to display on your seating plan.
- Show a ★ icon on the table if a guest is VIP.
- Confirm waitlist reservations when assigning them to a table.
- Choose the colors for all your time slots or for your active services. These colors correspond to the Confirmed status of a reservation and allow you, for example, to distinguish lunch from dinner service. For example, for the 12pm - 1.15pm slots, we could chose a burgundy color.
The preview of your options lets you see which features you’ve chosen to display.

3. Common Issues & FAQ
Common Issues
- The information on my seating plan is hard to read. You may have too much information enabled and visible, which makes it hard to read. It’s recommended to sort out this information using this article on seating plan management.
FAQ
- Can I change the background color of the seating plan? Yes, you can set it to white. On the dedicated page, uncheck the "Enable night view" box.
- Can I customize the reservation colors on the seating plan? You can assign a different color for each time slot. This lets you visually distinguish reservations for the first and second service, for example. The colors of statuses (confirmed, cancelled, etc.) cannot be customized.
