Everything you need to know about: the Credit Card Hold & Prepayment

⚙️ You can directly set up the Credit Card Holdand/or prepayment of experiences from your Zenchef space in the settings section.

👤 The first thing to do is to create an account on Zenchef Payment, our system for carrying out all transactions.

 

↩️ It is possible to refund the customer if necessary. Your customer will be refunded the full amount. Unfortunately, partial refunds are not possible at this time.
 

💰A commission amount is deducted following the deposit of each Credit Card Hold. Please note that commission fees will still be charged to you in the event of a refund.

 

🛡The Credit Card Hold is primarily a deterrent and prevention tool.
Its implementation alone is enough to drastically reduce the number of no-shows, without needing to proceed to the deduction. How to charge a customer? 
If you need more guarantee, we recommend opting for prepayment.

 

⚔️ When the customer accepts the general booking conditions, they agree to be charged the amount of the Credit Card Hold in case of non-compliance with these same conditions.
It can happen that the deduction fails for various reasons. If the deduction failure is intentional on the part of the customer, this is illegal/malicious and may be subject to legal action on your part. Zenchef cannot be held responsible in any way.

Below, you will find the most common reasons and example responses where applicable:

  • Insufficient funds (insufficient_funds) :

    • You can try again several times, especially at the end of the month/beginning of the following month.

    • You can contact the customer to find an amicable solution.
       

  • Deduction impossible (authentication_required ; your card was declined) : 
    For example, the customer blocked the transaction, or the card was reported stolen.

    • You can contact the customer to find an amicable solution.

    • You can take legal action against your customer and blacklist them in your customer file.
