Late cancellation is a particular state of the Cancelled reservation status that allows you to manage cancellations by customers who do not comply with your cancellation policy.
What are the consequences for reservations?
1️⃣All reservations
If a customer cancels a reservation after the deadline set by your cancellation policy, the booking status changes to Late Cancellation.
An indication appears on the customer file with the number of late cancellations.
2️⃣ Reservations with a Deposited bank imprint
If a customer cancels a reservation after the deadline set by your cancellation policy, the booking status changes to Late Cancellation but the associated credit deposit remains at the initial status.
The customer is informed that the cancellation deadline has been exceeded when canceling the reservation.
3️⃣ Reservations with a Prepaid experience
If a customer cancels a prepaid reservation, the booking status changes to Late Cancellation but the associated experience remains at the initial status.
By essence, a prepaid reservation cannot be canceled.
The customer is informed that the refund of their reservation will not be automatic when canceling the reservation.
For reasons of integrity and in order to preserve the probative value of the cancellation by the customer, only the action of an end user can change a booking to the Late Cancellation status.
What does this "Late Cancellation" status allow?
When a reservation is in the Late Cancellation status, you can :
- Change it to the No-show status before the reservation time
- Charge the customer's credit deposit.
