Why is an integration with Lightspeed important?
Zenchef and Lightspeed (K-series: iKentoo) have integrated to allow restaurateurs to centralize their actions and customer information, freeing up time for their core business.
What does the integration with Lightspeed include?
- Sending reservations from Zenchef to Lightspeed.
- Updating reservation statuses in both directions.
- Synchronizing reservation assignments on the floor plan.
- Retrieval of billing information, saving the average spent on the profile of the guest in Zenchef.
How to properly use the integration with Lightspeed?

Lightspeed
After setting up the integration Lightspeed will be able to retrieve and display your Zenchef reservations.
Guest is seated at their table:
- Select the Zenchef button on Lightspeed.
- Mark the preferred reservation as seated via Lightspeed.
- The status of the reservation on Zenchef will change from 'confirmed' to 'seated'.
Guest is ready to order food and drinks:
- Open the table to on which the reservation has been assigned (green icon wil show that a reservation has been seated to the table).
- Open a order for the guest and add the preferred food and drinks. The name of the guest will be displayed in the right-hand corner.
Guest is ready to pay:
- Open the table to on which the reservation has been assigned
- Submit a payment for the order.
- The status of the reservation on Zenchef will change from 'seated' to 'finished'.
- The details of the order will be saved on the reservation and an average spent will be saved on the guest profile in Zenchef.
Reservations assigned to multiple tables
You will find reservations assigned to multiple tables in "Direct Sales" in the list of tables (and not directly on the seating plan). Once the reservation has been selected, you can then "transfer it to another table" to see it on your seating plan.
Disclaimer
- The integration between Lightspeed and Zenchef can only work if the floor plan is identical on both applications: the tables must have the same descriptions.
- Walk-in reservations are not synced.
- If the table number of a reservation is changed in Lightspeed, the table number will not be updated in Zenchef. We advise to assign the reservations to the proper table via Zenchef.
- Zenchef reservations are visible for a maximum of 1 hour. After that it is not possible to mark the reservation as 'seated' via Lightspeed.
- The following information is not visible in Lightspeed: experiences, allergies, remarks, selected area, referral.
How do I set up the integration with Lightspeed?
Zenchef
- You can activate the integration with Lightspeed in your Zenchef environment via settings and the partner tab. You will find the partner under the category 'Point of sales'. Click on the connect button next to the partner.
- Enter your Lightspeed login details then click on "Connect".
- Tick the 2 "optins": Reservation-API and Financial-API.
- If necessary, choose the establishment to be connected from the drop-down list at the top left of the screen and click on "Connect".
PS: If an error message appears, wait a few minutes, and then perform the steps from point 1 again. If the error persists, contact our support team.
Lightspeed
Log in to your Ligthspeed account via this interface: iKentoo login page.
Click on the tabs: Menu Management > Menus.
Click on the action: "Edit Menu" to configure your card.
Click on the main screen: "REZA".
Click on "Add button" and select the "Web extension". Select the Zenchef extension and add the button.
PS: If the Zenchef web extension is not available, please contact k-series.support@lightspeedhq.com to ask them to activate it.
FAQ
Billing details and average spent is not forwarded from Lightspeed.
To ensure that the bill detail is forwarded from Lightspeed to Zenchef and that Zenchef can calculate an average spent for the guest based on that, it is mandatory that reservations are marked as seated in Lightspeed and that you also close the bill for the reservation through Lightspeed. You are not allowed to change these statuses in Zenchef.
