What You Need to Know
Prepayment allows you to secure reservations by requesting customers to pay an amount in advance. This amount is directly deducted from their final bill (unlike a payment authorization hold).
You can define specific conditions, such as the minimum number of guests required for prepayment or the cancellation deadline you allow.
1. Set Up on the Web App

Go to Settings.

Under the Service & Reservations tab, click on Services & Experience, then select Service.

In the Service Calendar, choose the service for which you want to enable prepayment (e.g., Dinner).

On the service details page, go to the Payment Options tab (fourth tab) and enable the Prepayment option.

Configure the following settings:

Amount per guest: Set the amount required per guest.

Minimum number of guests: Define the threshold at which prepayment is required.

Automatic cancellation: Specify the time limit for the customer to complete the prepayment before the reservation is automatically canceled.

Save and close the page.

Check the cancellation policy you have configured for your service. You can find this in the Online Automation tab (third tab in the service settings).

2. Set Up on the Zenchef iOS App
This setting is not yet available in the Zenchef iOS app. Please access your account from the Web App to configure it.

Check that you have correctly linked a Zenchef Payment account to your Zenchef account. Prepayment cannot work without this connection.
